Africa is still
It 's the 120 minutes of Uruguay-Ghana. Asamoah Gyan has a historic opportunity to drag the Ghana among the top four teams in the world.
A continent full stops and holds its breath. All in Jozi cheering Black Stars: waiters, policemen, taxi drivers, bartenders.
And on the day of the Uruguay-Ghana I visited the Apartheid Museum, the story of a terrible event took almost half century and not yet fully overcome.
So once again, football becomes a vehicle for social redemption, not only for Ghana but throughout Africa.
Another possibility for the continent with high potential for coming out to show that you can grow in spite of many difficulties exist.
Asamoah fails. The game goes to penalties and Ghana loses.
Africa and Ghana, leaving the World Cup.

Soweto *
begins on board a light green Mercedes 280 SE 1972 license plate sticker with South Africa but New Zealand, brown leather seats and bodywork in excellent condition, my day in Soweto. The township on the outskirts of Jozi, the scene of anti-apartheid riots, city district-a symbol of poverty and rebellion. There
accompanies a taxi driver who does not work on weekends and organize small round tour.
We are the only white people and are the main attraction. At the market, among people who look at us like we're all Martians stop to say hello, to ask how we are, whether we like South Africa and Jozi.
All the while my embarrassment grows so scary.
They are among the shanties of Soweto while the children run towards me, people talk to me and takes pictures.
through tiny lanes and I can not help but notice that everyone smiles as the music comes out of houses, women hanging laundry on long steel wires, people chatting and children playing.
An unforgettable. An extraordinary experience.
This is Africa and this is its people.
That's all that I carry inside forever.
A smile, a handshake.

* Soweto, an acronym for South Western Township
